our valentine’s

Justin and I had such a blessed time with our families on Thanksgiving day. We enjoyed a huge meal that was contributed to by many hands, and then spent a special time sharing the things we thank the Lord for when reflecting on the past year.
Here are some of the things that were on my list:
-the lovingkindness of my Savior (Psalm 63:3)
-my salvation; so undeserved
-my wonderful husband who loves me, leads our home, and is my best friend
-our church and the opportunity to grow, learn, and minister in the body of Christ
-new friends the Lord has blessed us with over the past year
-God’s provision of so many “little things” I often take for granted– hot water, cars, plenty of food etc.
-getting to spend Thanksgiving with both of our families and an uncle, aunt, cousin and grandma too :)
St. Patrick’s day menu:
Shepherd’s pie and grasshopper parfaits
Our first time making Ratatouille served over rice;
not quite like how it looked in the movie– but it was yummy!
I never realized growing up that the school staff and my teachers were probably just as excited (if not more) as I was when breaks, holidays, and summer vacation rolled around.
What a blessing from the Lord my spring break has been. Although I do miss my kiddos, I was definitely looking forward to some rest. I’ve been able to read, make a scrap book of last summer’s vacation (better late than never), try some new recipes, organize, savor homemade fruit smoothies, nap, attend a seminary class with Justin, catch up with friends & family, enjoy a new magazine, and go shopping– among other things.
Although I wouldn’t mind another week… I go back to the world of speech therapy refreshed :)
